Breathing Life into Respiratory Education

Dedicated to training healthcare professionals with the expertise and compassion to deliver excellent care across Wales; one breath at a time.

Michelle is a respiratory nurse practitioner, as well as an independent trainer and educator. She has extensive experience of working in primary care and held the lead respiratory nurse position within her practice for over 10 years.

Michelle worked as a clinical nurse educator for Cardiff & Vale Health Board for nearly a decade and it is within that role that her true passion for respiratory education flourished.  As the lead respiratory educator for primary care, it became very apparent that there is a distinct lack of support for nurses and allied health care professionals (HCPs) when it comes to managing patients with respiratory disease.  Michelle launched Dragon Respiratory Training Academy in 2025 with a commitment and passion to train, educate and support nursing staff across Wales and the UK, and to equip staff with the skills and ability to manage those with respiratory disease; deliver better care and improve patient outcomes.

After qualifying from Cardiff University in 2003 with a 1st Class Honours in Nursing, she later went on to complete an MSc in Advanced Nursing Practice. Michelle has diplomas in both asthma and COPD, holds the ARTP Certificate for Spirometry (Adult), has a PGCE in Adult Education and a Diploma in Digital Learning.

Michelle has worked as a Respiratory Nurse Specialist with Asthma & Lung UK, is currently a freelance associate with Education for health and sits on the Editorial Board for the Journal of General Practice Nursing.
